For My Students

I am currently teaching Rainforests to my Year 9 Geography class (13 and 14 year olds). They have been really moved by the plight of the rainforests, particularly Orangutans, and I thought this would be a perfect Christmas Present to the class.

I really love what you guys are endeavoring to do, and I have donated in the past. However, I've been reading a lot about the destruction of the rainforest (as well as many other destructive aspects of humans on this planet) and the number one reason for all this destruction is meat-, egg-, and dairy-eating. Read "Comfortably Unaware" by Richard Oppenlander, and you'll see what I mean. For instance, it takes 55 square feet of rainforest and 1,200 gallons of water to produce a 1/4 pound hamburger. I eat a vegan diet. Won't you join me?
