Barry Rice, Nature Conservancy affiliate suggests some preventative measures in ensuring your hiking footwear, doesn’t string along some harmful species after those hikes. Rice, a specialist on invasive species, offers an age old tip; keep the boots clean. Thorough cleansing should keep off any unwanted substances or species, according to Rice.
