Adopt an Acre for Educators

Photo Photo TNC/Sergio Pucci
To date, several hundred classrooms, after-school programs and student groups participated in The Nature Conservancy’s Adopt an Acre® program. Please consider posting how you’re using the Adopt an Acre program in your work with students to help generate ideas for other educators. Watch this video about how Jennifer Eason and her students at Mary Munford Elementary raised money to adopt five acres in Costa Rica, and learn how you too can help inspire the next generation of conservation leaders.

My students vote on the location to help each year and work in teams at different sporting events to raise money for the location selected. Africa seems to be their favorite location -- selected 3 years running.

Video inspired me. I will bring this program up to our Parents/Teachers group who always want new ideas.

Our school does Adopt an Acre each year. 8th grade car wash raised enough for 6 acres. Kids had a blast and felt really good about helping.
