My favorite natural landscape on the planet is Denali National Park. As a resident of Fairbanks, I am so fortunate to only live two hours away from this Eden. There is no where else that I have been, (and that covers half of the globe) where you have wilderness, extreme alpine beauty, and abundant wildlife. There is a reason I live in a major tourist destination.

Ahhh, Montana, the entire state, no place like it on earth from the rimrocks of Billings to the touristy West Yellowstone to the highest peaks in the Crazy Mtn range or even those in the Bitterroots...no where else on earth would I rather be, ever...I cry every time I leave.

Although I have lived and traveled in many states and countries, I will never forget walking through the jungle in Panama. With a knife on my hip, I was queen of all the beautiful flowers and toucans at only age 15. And where else but Panama could one find rare seashells on a hidden beach? But now, the shells are probably bulldozed, painted gold and gaudy and offered for sale in every beach town in the U.S. Is that as much fun? As for my jungle... I hope it's still there!

I have three places. The first is Burro Creek AZ., with its natural springs and pools, assorted wildlife and total seclusion in the pristine desert. The Great Sierra Nevadas., The most differentiation of vegetation on earth with a charm of old miner days. Last but certainly not least is San Carlos Senora Mexico., Lovely sunsets, relaxing beaches, lots of variety of animals and fishing gallor, San Carlos is definitely Kick it Time.

My favorite place is Orient Point State Park on Long Island. It's a beautiful beach overlooking Gardiner's Bay. There is also a maritime forest with rare trees and plants, such as blackjack oak, and prickly pear cactus. Take a hike down Long Beach Bar to the tern colony. One of the best parts of going to the park is the lovely drive down route 25 on Long Island's North Fork.

I have two, both here in bucolic Vermont… the first being Merck Forest in Rupert. I have been hiking, camping, and snowshoeing there for 33 years. I have never felt anything but absolute peace when I’m there. This conservation organization is in my will. And I also love Burton Island State Park in Lake Champlain. A short ferry ride surrenders you to a small island where the only vehicles are a few garden carts. The sunsets and the rocks are to die for. The thunderstorms are pretty incredible too. We only go in the beginning or the end of the camping season… even though there are only about 50 campsites, it’s more peaceful being there without a lot of people.

I love this town park that has very different wild life. I live in urban NJ and I came across a coyote and foxes. I especially like it because someone donated the land to the town and it has become a vast park. I am so grateful because I don't have to drive to get in the thick of tress now.

My favorite place is our own backyard. My husband and I retired to North Central Florida ten years ago. We live on five acres west of Gainesville. I do a lot of gardening and enjoy the sounds and sights of nature on our property. The sunsets are awesome and can take your breath away. Many times the sky is in colors of orange and blue. God is truly shining down on the GATORS!

The Navarre Beach State Park in NW Florida is situated on a barrier island. The sound side of this wonderful park is a white sand nature preserve that hosts spectacular sunrises and an enormous wealth of sea and shore animals. Each time I visit the sound it is a different majestic scene. I have caught some of the beauty which I have put on Flickr for all to enjoy.

My favorite place is right where I live. I live on a small pond right outside my patio door. It's nothing much but I love it. We have alot of different birds that visit my bird feeders. Lots of malard ducks come to the pond with some geese that stop by once in awhile. We have cottontail bunnies, chipmonks & squirls. We have many bullfrogs in the pond & the little ones even hop up to the patio once in awhile. They are so cute.I consider myself fortunate to live here. It's the best location in the apartment complex that I live in. It is especialy special to me because I am sort of disabled & I can't walk much so I can't go to any wildlife forest preserves or anything like that.
