I live near the Great Barrier Reef marine park, one of Australia's most valuable natural and tourism assets, and one of the first likely to feel the heat of climate change. Visit while you can! Many of Australia's other beautiful natural wilderness areas, such as the Kimberley region of Western Australia, are now under threat from the mining industry and state governments keen to boost their budgets by pushing for the sale of parts of areas recently returned to our indigenous people, under Native Title, on the expectation of their guardianship in perpetuity and use as hunting grounds.
