Miracle Vinegar

White vinegar is perfect for killing weeds that sprout through our hard-top driveway.  The best part…it's cheap! It's also a very effective glass cleaner.

Air freshener
I put little cups of ACV around the house as natural air fresheners. It nutrualizes odors, and make the house smell fresh. Using herbal, or Vinegar of the Thieves helps cut down flu and colds.

Another use for vinegar is to kill odors during and after cooking. When frying fish, cooking cabbage, broccoli, etc., or any of the veggies with lots of odors--place a small open bowl of vinegar on or near the stove and leave it there until the next day. You will be amazed at the lack of cooking odors--just from plain ole vinegar!

You can also use vinegar in the wash if you have animals living in the house with you. This helps with the pet dander

Hi JeanneLou~ This is how I clean a coffee maker: Fill the carafe with one cup of white vinegar, then up to 12 cups with plain water. Pour this mixture into your coffee maker - just as if you were going to make a pot of coffee. Turn on the coffee maker, and let all of the vinegar water percolate. After all has gone through, let the mixture in the carafe cool. I repeat this several times. What this doesn't clean (like the outside of the coffee maker), use the final cool vinegar/water mixture to clean these parts. If it's been a while since the coffee maker has been cleaned, it may take a bit of "elbow grease" to completely clean everything - like small crevices - it depends on what make of coffee maker you own. Just don't use anything toxic to clean! The vinegar will work! Good Luck!!

Hi Blair~ I'd not heard about using vinegar as a weed killer - what a great tip! Unlike some people, I like the aroma of vinegar. I use vinegar - slightly diluted - to spray on tiles in the bath. It works, and - again - it's cheap. I, too, clean windows with vinegar and newspapers. Also, use vinegar to clean coffee makers - be sure to place a clean filter in it before beginning the process.
